Mike is a Veterinarian and has been practicing since 1987. He owns his own practice, Woodland Veterinary Hospital, in Ohio. He has been involved with Bernese Mountain Dogs since 1981. Prior to that he had Newfoundlands. He has been showing in conformation since he was about 9 years old.
Kris has been a Veterinarian Technician since 1993. For a period of time she was also an Animal Control Officer. Kris has been involved with Berners since 2001. Prior to that, she had a couple of St. Bernards and a Great Dane. She has been showing in conformation since 2008.
Currently we have our Bernese Mountain Dogs living on our 11 acres of land which includes 2 ponds. Our log cabin home was designed by us and includes a barn/kennel to house all our Bernese. The kennel has a/c and heat to keep everyone comfortable year round. There is plenty of room for all the dogs both indoors and outdoors with a large fenced in backyard.
Most of our dogs live in our house full-time. Our breeding program typically produces 1 to 2 litters a year. We seek to improve the health, longevity and breed type with each new litter. Pups are raised in our house and placed with selected families. We have health contracts on all pups. We feel that these dogs are special and are truly a man's best friend. Bernese Mountain Dogs have such a gentle expression, distinct personalities, and are known for their Berner bumps and hugs! They are truly a joy to have and love.
